PIRATE SCHOOL

Ahoy! Me, Hearties!

Calling all young scallywags. Ever wanted to learn how to become a real pirate? Join The Tall Ship Pirate School this summer and discover how to dress like a pirate, eat like a pirate and even talk like a pirate! Activities also include making a treasure map, a spyglass and your own pirate ship!

The summer ends with a swashbuckling party onboard Glenlee! Party games, grub boxes and loot bags for all budding buccaneers!

Tuesdays or Thursdays at 11am, from 30th June - 6th August
£15 per child (price includes 5 workshops and entry to the end of summer swashbuckling party). Places are limited so book NOW! Call the Museum Education Officer on 0141 222 2513.
Single workshops can be pre-booked for £3 per child.
Suitable for age 5-9. Not suitable for groups.

 

PIRATE SHIP COLLAGE 

Tuesdays and Thursdays 1.00 – 3.00pm
Drop-in and help us build a great big pirate ship picture. 
Materials supplied. Groups MUST pre-book.

 

MOUSE HUNT!

Everyday throughout the summer holidays.
Become a 'Rodent Control Officer' and follow the clues around Glenlee and spot as many toy mice as you can! Give your final count to Reception and claim your prize!

The Glasgow Festival: On the River

10.00am - 6.00pm

Formally known as The River Festival, this annual event held on the Clyde is entering it's 6th year. Vessels from all over the world join Glenlee on the banks of the Clyde. The Tall Ship offers FREE ENTRY this weekend with plenty of swashbuckling activities, entertainment and food stalls on the quayside! Come along and join the fun!


Monday 28 September

LIVING HISTORY DAY

12.00pm - 4.00pm

Step aboard Glenlee as she returns home from a voyage around the world in 1913. Meet Captain Owens and his crew as they relate tales of terror rounding the fearsome Cape Horn,  before hearing about William Pedvin, his mysterious illness and his untimely death. 

The Tall Ship voluntary Living History team were trained by Artemis Scotland.

DRESS UP AND DRAW

1.00pm - 3.00pm

A Big Draw Event for October week. Picture yourself as a pirate? See yourself as Ship’s captain? Imagine the creatures of the deep? Find inspiration at the Tall Ship to experiment with drawing on a nautical theme. Costumes and drawing materials supplied.
