Cargo Hold Re-Opening

After over 12 months of continual restoration and refitting, Glenlee's Cargo Hold is once again open to the public! A new display of images from the Restoration period 1992 - 1999 is projected onto a sail, handcrafted for Glenlee by the townspeople of Mariehamm, Finland. Captain Irving Johnson's epic voyage around the Horn can also be viewed in the Cargo Cinema! All Welcome!

Cargo Hold Closure

In preparation for the re-opening on 25th June, the Cargo Hold is currently closed to the public. Essential maintenance and restoration work is taking place and our crew are hard at work! This summer, visitors will be able to explore the newly restored deck and experience what it was really like to sail aboard a ship like Glenlee in the Cargo Cinema!

Visitors will be able to sit amongst the ship's cargo and view Captain Irving Johnson's tale of his journey 'Around Cape Horn' onboard the barque Peking in 1929. Witness spectacular images of a wild storm as Captain Johnson narrates how the ship was able to navigate this notorious passage. Not to be missed!

Swashbuckling Storytelling

Mon 14th - Fri 18th April 11am and 12pm

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Swashbuckling Storytelling has been cancelled.

It it’s place, young scallywags are invited to join the Tall Ship pirates for a tasty round of Grub ‘n’ Grog!

Scrub the decks, ring the bell, raise the Jolly Roger and have a swig of ‘Glenlee Grog’ – if you dare! Or test your skills at decorating your very own ship’s biscuit – have you remembered to tap out the bugs before you begin?!
