Pupils take on the role of marine archaeologists as they uncover shipwreck artefacts from 'seabed' sand trays. Using primary and secondary sources, they will have to work in teams to discover the stories of ships and souls lost at sea.

Pupils discover what life was like at sea for Victorian sailors. Pupils try their hand at writing in the Captain's logbook, handle Victorian objects, take hold of the wheel and investigate overcrowded living quarters in the deckhouse.

Introduce your class to a life at sea in our ‘Cargo Cinema’, showing film footage of a dangerous voyage around Cape Horn, before allowing the pupils to explore Glenlee. A Teacher’s Navigation Chart and pupil Discovery Trails will help you on your voyage!
